TED graduated with a BS degree in Geophysics from the University of Oklahoma in 1988, a MS degree in Geology from the University of New Orleans in 1990, and a MBA from Rice University in 2002.He began his career in 1990 as an interpreter in the Offshore Gulf of Mexico Production group for Texaco. His responsibilities included prospect maturation of operated and non-operated properties utilizing 2D and 3D seismic and well data. In that time he drilled over 20 successful producing and wildcat wells. In 1993, in addition to his prospect maturation duties, he was assigned to the Offshore Risk Evaluation Team responsible for assigning risk and volumetric estimates for all offshore production well opportunities. Additionally, he became a college recruiter assigned to the University of Oklahoma.

In 1996, after a brief assignment in Australia, he transferred to the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Exploration team pursuing new acreage for potential drills where he participated in six offshore Gulf of Mexico lease sales. He became Lead Geoscientist for the Western Deepwater Team in 1999 in charge of managing both prospect maturation and employee development. In 2001-2002 Ted was involved in drilling the deepwater BAHA prospect..

He has served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Visitor’s for the College of Geosciences and the Geology and
Geophysics Alumni Advisory council at the University of Oklahoma.
